About The Harlem Method:
The Harlem Method is a strength-based group fitness studio dedicated to building resilient bodies and strong communities. We focus on functional strength training, progressive programming, and a supportive atmosphere that empowers members to move with confidence and purpose.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Group Fitness Strength Coach to join our coaching team. The ideal candidate has formal experience teaching group strength classes, exceptional coaching skills with free weights, and a desire to help clients develop both physically and mentally.
Responsibilities:

Lead high-quality group strength training sessions following The Harlem Method’s programming and philosophy.

Coach proper form and technique using barbells, dumbbells, kettlebells, and trap bars.

Provide individualized attention within a group setting, ensuring safety and engagement for all members.

Foster an inclusive, motivating, and community-driven environment.

Assist in program design and contribute to ongoing class development.

Participate in community events and represent The Harlem Method brand.
Qualifications:

Minimum 1–3 years of experience coaching group strength or functional fitness classes.

Proficiency in barbell, dumbbell, kettlebell, and trap bar movements.

Nationally recognized certification

CPR/AED certification (or willingness to obtain).

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Enthusiasm for helping others achieve their strength and fitness goals.
Program design knowledge and experience with progressive overload, periodization, or functional training principles are a plus.
Compensation:
Competitive hourly rate based on experience, with opportunities for growth as the studio expands.
