Fitness Programmer

Loudoun County's Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Services is currently seeking qualified applicants for two full time Fitness Programmers. In this position, the programmer is responsible for leading and overseeing the delivery of all fitness programs and services, including both group exercise and personal training. The individual should be prepared to manage all aspects of a robust fitness program operation and monitoring compliance with fitness program requirements.

We are currently hiring for the following locations:

• Ashburn Recreation & Community Center | Ashburn, VA (opens in 2025)
• Dulles South Recreation & Community Center | South Riding, VA

• Create fitness programs to provide individuals with opportunities to participate in a wide range of fitness-related activities, promoting physical well-being.
• Provide fitness instructor training, as needed.
• Supervision of part time Group Exercise Instructor and Personal Training staff, to include interviewing, onboarding, discipline, and evaluation.
• Develop and market a robust monthly Group Exercise class schedule, including varied class formats, multiple modalities, class times, etc. to meet the needs of the community.
• The role involves formulating program evaluation benchmarks, approaches, and resources, and integrating evaluation information into future program strategizing.
• Maintains a safe environment for all program participants and patrons.
• Work effectively with outside agencies and organizations to promote the program and its goals in the community.
• Coordinates all aspects of the fitness programs and activities, including group exercise classes and personal training.
• Other essential job functions relevant to the position and department assignment may be carried out.
