Looking for several instructors to launch/rebuild program.
All formats to be considered including cycling, TRX, dance fitness, and others.
Times available include primetime evenings 6pm, 7pm, & 8pm Mondays thru Thursdays.
Saturday mornings are possible options, as well.
Must have primary certification.
Sliding pay scale based on years of experience and specialty certifications being used.
Salt Lake County will reimburse for CEU's to maintain current certifications.

JOB SUMMARY Provides group fitness instruction. Educates patrons on fitness and safety, and maintains a safe and enjoyable atmosphere for class participants.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of hire. Possession of CPR, First-Aid, and AED certifications at the time of hire. Must have current (land or water) ‘group fitness’ primary certification (see list below) Must have additional certifications and/or licenses as needed per class format upon employment. Successful completion of a criminal background check.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS The following duties and responsibilities are intended to be representative of the work performed by the incumbent(s) in this position and are not all-inclusive. Applicants must be prepared to demonstrate the ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation. • Teaches scheduled classes, beginning and ending on time; provides adequate warm-up, exercises, stretching, and cool down. • Instructs patrons on effective workout methods; explains proper techniques, demonstrates exercises; identifies different muscle groups, and teaches appropriate methods to strengthen specific muscles. • Prepares appropriate equipment, music, and handouts for each class. • Assists patrons, answers questions, and maintains a positive exercise experience for members and class participants. • Keeps management informed of customer and facility needs. • Ensures that safety standards are met. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSA) Knowledge of: • Specialty course • Program curriculum planning • General health and safety principles and practices • Basic knowledge of supervision skills for children and adults in group settings Skills and Abilities to: • Communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing • Effective problem solving skills • Effective public relations and customer service skills • Function as a team player • Be alert, attentive, self-motivated, enthusiastic, responsible, and adaptable • Act independently to perform required and assigned job duties • Cooperate with colleagues, support staff, and administration in a professional manner • Demonstrate a positive attitude with participants and colleagues • Demonstrate professionalism in behavior in dress and grooming • Arrive at work on time and be ready to teach at the assigned class start time
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Conditions will vary according to course taught. May work with various ages, skill and ability levels. Physical activity may include bending, lifting, active play, working with machinery. May have disagreeable elements such as; noise, poor ventilation, extreme/uneven temperatures, work inside or outside, and exposure to stressful situations as result of human behavior.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING THIS POSITION Hours will vary according to course schedule, preparation time, and meetings. Schedules may include weeknights, holidays and weekends. Pay based on teaching experience and education and specific to each program area
